Ametros President Porter Leslie to Discuss Managing Lifetime Healthcare Costs at NSSTA

microphone

San Diego, Calif. (October 29, 2018) — How do you determine how much money it will take to cover the future medical care for someone who has sustained a serious injury?  What resources do injured parties have after settling their cases?

Ametros’ President, Porter Leslie, will discuss the answers these questions and related topics during the “Managing Healthcare Costs for a Lifetime,” panel at the Fall Regional Conference of the National Structured Settlements Trade Association (NSSTA), November 7-9. The panel is being held at 10:30AM on the 8th.

“Designing a settlement that adequately covers an injured party’s needs over a lifetime is challenging,” Leslie said.  “You need to thoroughly evaluate the case and factor in the ongoing costs of healthcare.” Leslie said.

Joining Leslie on the panel, which will be moderated by Arcadia’s Len Blonder, are Jennifer Christian, MD and Paul Sighinolfi, Director of Maine’s Workers Compensation Board. The presentation will focus on things to consider when settling cases with significant ongoing healthcare needs. Panelists will discuss how settlement brokers, their clients and partners can assess the needs of the injured party, evaluate the cost of future care, and address regulatory requirements.  The session will also include tips for successful settlements.

“The ultimate goal is to set the injured party up for success,” Leslie said. “We need to ensure that the injured party has the resources to pay bills, receive clinical support, extend settlement dollars, and manage any Medicare reporting.”

The NSSTA 2018 Fall Regional Conference will be held in San Diego, California.  The conference is open to NSSTA members only, although members can bring guests.  For more information, visit: www.nssta.com/node/1188
