Marques Torbert to Speak at the 2019 LASIE Medicare Secondary Payer Academy

Our CEO, Marques Torbert, will join a panel titled “What Happens After We All Go Home” at the 2019 Louisiana Association of Self Insured Employers MSP Academy on March 26th from 2PM to 3PM.

Jack Meligan of The Plaintiff’s MSA and Lien Solution and Cameron Lindahl with the CPT Institute join him to discuss issues that injured parties face after settling their claims. Where injured parties once had an adjuster or nurse case manager to guide them through the healthcare system, once they settle, they’re on their own. The workers' compensation or liability system paid their injury-related medical bills before settlement; now injured parties need to pay out of their settlement funds. Those with Medicare Set Asides also need to report these expenses to Medicare, and a mistake can cost them future Medicare coverage of their injury-related medical bills if they run out of funds.

Panelists will examine professional administration versus self-administration and other issues beneficiaries face after settlement.

LASIE will hold the one-day seminar at the New Orleans Lakeway Marriott on March 26th.  The seminar offers continuing education credits in several nursing and adjuster categories.
